Emaus - Women

Emaus - Women

Emmaus women is a ministry that gives the women in the community of Our Lady of Divine Providence the opportunity to experience the love of our Lord Jesus Christ in our hearts via a retreat in such a way that with His love and infinite wisdom He will help us bring about change in our lives so that we will be His light wherever we are, and also become more actively involved within the church.

This retreat are coordinated by the women of our parish and it offers you a special opportunity for spiritual growth, by building a relationship with God by offering you time to reflect and a space to draw closer to Jesus in your search for and encounter with him. It helps you lead a life full of hope for a better tomorrow that will benefit you and your family. The retreat guides you through a series of personal experiences related to the spiritual, emotional, physical, and interpersonal life presented by a group of people, who will help you come out of the retreat with a renewed sense of priorities and purpose.

MEETINGS ARE

1st & 3rd WEDNESDAY at 7:30pm

The first Emmaus retreat took place in the Archdiocese of Miami at the Dominican Retreat House in 1978. It was developed and organized by a team of women from St. Louis Church in Kendall and has since spread to other parishes in the Archdiocese of Miami, as well as other cities, states and even other countries. The retreat is based on a scripture found in Luke 24:13-35, where Jesus appears to two of the disciples who were on the road to Emmaus after his resurrection.
